The four houses of our school are the Plum, the Orchid, the Chrysanthemum ad Bamboo, where students are encouraged to learn cooperation and team spirit and to pass love and care to others. In addition, the Qinqin School PTA (Parent-Teacher Association) helps to make sure every child is in a safe and protected environment.
The curriculum is based on an overall educational concept which promotes the students' potential and talent. In Qinqin School we have both a Chinese and English system consisting of either liberal arts or scientific studies, examinational or non-examinational subjects, basic, extended and elective courses. We encourage students to choose extended courses from more than 120 options. Our learning model includes individuality, creativity and deep learning, so that each and every student can become a better self.
PBL-Steam courses aim to stimulate children's creativity, focus on the project theme as well as encourage students to solve problems by using science, technology, engineering, art, mathematics and other interdisciplinary knowledge. This enables students to experience, explore, share, learn and enjoy the learning process.
Qinqin School provides students with plenty of opportunities to perform on the stage, becoming young actors who learn how to work together. They can practice all sorts of acting skills in drama lessons. Through imitation, rehearsals, choreography, making costumes and props, everyone has the opportunity of becoming an actor on the stage.
Our curriculum also includes baseball, fencing, taekwondo, aerobics, dance, vocal music, orchestral music, folk music, sketching, oil painting, traditional Chinese painting, a“Dream” workshop, 3 D modeling, programming and robotics. Many subjects such as P.E., music, art and technology all help to promote the development of students' learning ability.
Qinqin School’s International Integrated Curricula (IIC) program combines the essence of Chinese and Western high-quality education with the idea of future orientation. The course aims to develop students’ individual personality and overall qualities, allowing students to cultivate and practice the skills they have developed in this course throughout their school life. The Harkness-table classroom model has been incorporated alongside the PBL (Project Based Learning) system. On the basis of China’s National Compulsory Education course, we will use a blend of International educational systems such as the Cambridge curriculum (UK), the IB curriculum concept, open interdisciplinary research studies, design thinking and practical research courses. The International Integrated Curricula (IIC) program has won support from more than 20 international partner schools with regards to the curriculum design, teaching staff, teaching materials and further-study application.
BYOD Teaching Mode
With the support of BYOD technology, we can carry out online discussions on numerous topics through networking and expressing our own opinions. Assignments can be shared, uploaded, corrected and proofread via Blackboard platforms. This also provides real-time feedback on learning, thereby improving efficiency. Our school has a very large network data base with abundant resources. We can choose suitable Micro-Course Online Videos for self-learning and carry out various simulation space experiments. Every child becomes inspired in the Qinqin classroom.
The Chinese and English bilingual reading system has built a platform where the bilingual reading evaluation system has been innovated. Research trips at home and abroad are undertaken, international cultural festivals and other activities allow children to learn from the World and spread Chinese wisdom. Students deepen their International understanding by learning from cultural exchanges.
We aim to form a free-minded thinker by guiding children to build a complete and healthy mental model. Childrens’ philosophy and thinking tools are popularized to help children develop good habits of observation, analysis, prediction, judgment, practice and reflection. As they grow, students gradually acquire a systematic way of thinking that helps guide their development.
